Spok21 by IGEL

The Spok21 is a new, sophisticated text-to-speech augmentative/alternative communication (AAC) aid that is perfect for the literate communicator who can take advantage of the device's phrase memories. Spok21 was especially developed for all day use as a speech generating device (SGD). It has been designed with a wide range of functionality.

Spok21 has a modern, ergonomic design with a full-size keyboard. It is extremely easy to use, but offers the functionality necessary for fast communication. There are twelve (12) topic categories, each with six (6) quick response phrases like "Yes", "No", or "I don't like that" to help you focus on the topic at hand. Additionally, 39 messages can be stored in each category. These stored messages can be entered into the display, may be used, added to, or changed and then spoken. Using the direct memory buttons and keyboard, up to 540 utterances can be stored, sorted by situation, level or alphabetically.

Its large user display shows up to seven lines of text, offers small, medium and large fonts, while the forward-facing display shows two lines of text, making it easy for the listeners to follow conversations.

High quality speech synthesis is available in many languages with the Babel synthesizer. You toggle between any two languages which reside on the Spok21 at the same time. Two integrated speakers provide loud, clear output.

There are keyboard choices to be made at purchase. The Combi keyboard is a multi-purpose system which can be used by touch or as a switch scanning system. We have another keyboard that is for direct selection only. These keyboards can be purchased in QWERTY or ABCDE layouts. There is also a membrane keyboard and a notebook keyboard available. An evaluation center or loan bank may choose to have a variety of these keyboards on hand, as they are easily interchangeable.

We offer a number of different face plate colors. The Spok21 is available in red, blue, green, and yellow.

Software updates are quick and easy. Connect the Spok21 to your PC by the USB cable and download the latest software releases to take advantage of new capabilities as they are released. Batteries are replaced in the field, saving lots of time on routine maintenance.
